Rehabilitation by Riddhi

Deep Khan

Deep is a physically and mentally challenged young man of about 30 years.  He is our ex-student.  He completed NIOS Sr. Secondary through family contacts and was tried to be rehabilitated in some office, a school as an apprentice and helper. Both the experiences were very demoralizing for him. The people of the workplace were not sensitive to or understanding about his limitations.  He was made fun of, scolded for his slowness and ultimately made to sit throughout the day with no work.

A Success Story

Sk. Md. Muneebur Rahman

A young adult, a student and also an assistant in our vocational unit  is now ready for the next step and we at Riddhi have appointed him as a trainee office assistant as well as assistant in three segments of our vocational training unit namely – Canteen service, Baking unit and Weaving unit.

Muneebur has been under our care for the last 18 years. A mild intellectual impaired boy, at first was very introvert and hesitant but gradually bloomed beautifully. Now he is confident, travels freely, and faces challenges boldly. His main problem is his short term memory which is a great hindrance to his academic performance. Keeping that in mind we trained him giving stress in other areas of learning. He is a good sports person and one time National Table Tennis Champion (2013) and one time runner up (2008).

He still plays T.T. in a renowned club in our locality. His transformation into a well behaved, cooperative young man is remarkable.
